hi, i’m kim.
I’m a graphic designer and experimental mixed media artist based in the Bay Area. My work is a series of highly experimental visual studies exploring gestalt and contrast; using collage studies, watercolor, and mixed media to create dynamic compositions that challenge perception and visual harmony. Through layering and juxtaposition, I investigate how fragments interact, evoking abstract forms unexpected ways.
By working with ephemera, paper, and color, I seek to capture the unsaid—translating the non-verbal into abstract forms that invite contemplation. Each piece is crafted with archival materials on 300 GSM cotton paper, ensuring longevity while preserving the delicate interplay of textures.
I also dabble in (and find great joy in!) food styling, food tasting, jewelry-making, and running with my Shepsky (German shepherd, husky mix) dog, Ace. I have a bachelor’s degree in business from Notre Dame de Namur University, and a master’s degree in visual design and new media from the Academy of Art University in SF.
